Today we are going to have a quick test on the three orchids that you have learned about this year. The questions are below. Do NOT look over past notes, do this from your memory only.

  1. Why has removal of Tingo remotio from Hogwarts grounds failed?
  2. What are the effects of ingesting Tingo remotio?
  3. Describe the effects of the Cheer Orchid
  4. What is the difference of absorbing the Cheer Orchid compared to ingesting it?
  5. What does a Timor Orchid look like?
  6. How are the flowers normally used?

Once you have completed the quiz, bring it up to me to grade. You are then dismissed. Your homework is to look over your notes on orchids and see what questions you may have missed.

It has been suggested to me that I teach you a Fright Solution, as some of your marks are exceptionally poor due to an absurd fright of my class. Very well, I will. Ingredients and instructions are on the board. I do hope that you have not forgotten to bring the bottle of Timor Orchid sap that Professor Sprout gave you.

Potions Blackboard
Fright Solution
Ingredients

Timor Orchid sap
Dragon's blood
Flobberworm mucus
Fig juice
3 porcupine quills
Spiders, dead and dried
Essence of Lionfish

Instructions

Bring 1 pint of fig juice to a boil. Add 1 gram dragon's blood and let simmer for 5 minutes. While it simmers, grind an addition gram of dragon's blood with 10 dried spiders in your mortar and pestle. Add this to the fig juice after five minutes. Stir five times clockwise. Simmer for three minutes, then add 1 ounce flobberworm mucus. The potion should immediately turn a brilliant purple. Add five drops Essence of Lionfish. This should cause the potion to return to a dull green. Bring back to a fierce boil and add 3 porcupine quills. The potion should go several shades lighter in color and thicken considerably. Lastly, add 20 drops of Timor Orchid sap. Let it continue to boil fiercely until it has turned to the color and thickness of glue. Remove from heat and bottle.

Your time is up. Bottle your effort and bring it up to me. I will keep it for grading. You may keep the remainder of your Timor Orchid sap as it will lose it's potency tomorrow. Class dismissed.

I hope that you enjoyed the guest lecture last class. We will be having more of them in the future.

Today we will study two famous wizards and their accomplishments.

Gregory the Smarmy was unliked during his school days for being over bearing and a know-it-all. He later seemed to find this depressing as he invented Gregory's Unctuous Unction which causes the drinker to think that the one who gave the unction to them is their best friend. He died with an exclusive society surrounding him. Those who were in it couldn't believe their good luck at getting in it while those who weren't thought that all those who were in it were a bit desperate. You can find a statue of Gregory the Smarmy with in this castle.

Fulbert the Fearful lived from 1014 - 1092. He was, as his name suggests, afraid of everything. He died when his roof collapsed from a defective Defensive Charm. It is thought that he developed such fear at a very young age when he was forced to go through a magical haunted house by his older brother. Fulbert only just made it out alive due to the lack of safety spells on several of the creatures. For the rest of his life he would check behind his shoulder every minute just to make sure that no one was sneaking up on him. This led to his classmates teasing him and booby-trapping his book bag with stink bombs.

Your homework is to read through all your past work. Class is dismissed.
